Samsung will release the world first 64GB SSD (Solid State Drive) camcorder.
On 6th, Samsung said they will release the full HD camcorder with 64GB SSD in the CES2009 which will be held in 8-11th.
This 64GB SSD camcorder appears that it will lead the market expanding by making the new demand of high capacity memory camcorder.
According to the market, the market ratio of the memory camcorder market in the whole camcorder market has grown up to 290 million (18%) in 2008 from 300 thousand (2%) in 2007, and it will become 510 million (32%) this year.
The 64GB SSD camcorder can take a shot without missing it thanks to its faster booting speed than HDD camcorders. While HDD camcorders take 5 sec to boot, SSD camcorder is turned on right away.
Relative to HDD camcorder, it’s stronger to shock and vibration, so you can take a shot while riding a bike, jogging, sports, and it can safely keep data when dropping it.
10x optical zoom Schneider lens and 2.2M pixel CMOS sensor make high quality video shot possible, and for the first time in the work, ‘Swivel handgrip’ has been applied. With the low angle, it’s convenient to take a shot of children.
Especially, PC software which is able to play and edit videos, so connecting the camcorder to the PC with USB cable, the software stored in the camcorder is automatically executed in the PC.
Samsung electronics has a plan to release the 64GB SSD camcorder at the end of the first quarter of this year. It makes camcorder lineup much stronger following the full HD camcorder. Therefore, not only for display and AV such as TV, monitor, blue-ray player, and home theater, but also for mobile products, they will be able to expand the full HD line up.
