YP-T9 what is a new model of Samsung T-series that has been continued for more than 1 year once again proves the reason that iPod that is strong in worldwide MP3 market except Korea.

YP-T9 that has design, function and service that is strengthened through SMS (Samsung Media Studio). Let’s briefly have a look at the product from the exterior.

The history of Samsung MP3 player “YEPP” is not short at all. The history that has started from the end of 1990s has been trimmed and the appearance is keep becoming solid. The historical meaning that YP-T9 has from the history of Yepp is that the logo that YEPP has been using is changed through this model.

New logo design has tried to make more emotional and soft from the hard feeling of original logo that was a mixture of small letter and italic font. By using a capital letter and the edges are rounded and from the look standing up straight, the look of MP3 player of Samsung can be seen.

The front side of YP-T9 is in vertical type similar to other bar typed models. But it is using different key method from tilt key of YP-T9 and touch pad of YP-Z5F is used. The tilt key of YP-T9 makes various key functions possible in small size, but it had space and especially had inconveniences for people with big hands and the touch pad of YP-Z5F had shown neat feeling in design, but had a limitation of quick key realizing ability, so YP-T9 has located the advantages of these two models to use intuitional and wide key pad.

Four keys on the right side are for power and play/ Menu / Back / Section repeat (A↔B) and recording.

I think the reason to locate functional keys on the right side is to improve the inconvenience caused by separated buttons on right and left sides when operated with one hand. Especially the section repeat and recording button is little but separated apart from three buttons and its shape is more rounded, so users do not need to check keys every time when used.

On the left side, there is a hold key place at a similar location of Back key on the right side. When hold key is operated, yellow circle is seen on a button, so it is easier to recognize the current state. Also when a function key is used while the hold key is in operation, it shows a lock on the screen to inform the hold state.

When I’ve looked at the bottom side, I was surprised about the large cable terminal compared to the product size.
Its size was bigger than YP-T8 and little bit bigger than YP-Z5F, so I started to wonder whey such size is used. But after realizing that 24 Pin cable that is same as the mobile charger is used, it made me smile.

YP-T9 is compatible with mobile phone charger. This can be recognized as a more convenient point apart from a simple compatibility. If users have forgot to charge, it can be easily charged at supermarket where mobile phone can be charged and even while being at friend’s place, it is possible to charge using 24 Pin standard charger.

On the top side, there is a loop for a necklace string in the center, earphone terminal on the left and internal microphone on right are located. I think the reason that earphone and internal microphone are separated from each other is to prevent noise while recording caused by earphone connection.

On the upper side of the back, there is a text logo of Samsung and on the lower side, model name, DNSe, Bluetooth and other approval mark and serial number are concentrated at the bottom, so even with many prints, in overall the backside is very tidy and neat.

It was the exterior looked at very briefly, but it was easy to feel that it is a product that is organized with rational reasons for design and the realization of functions. Especially the neat finishing that has been maintained from the first model of Samsung MP3 has been improved further in YP-T9. Even though MP3 is a device for music play, YP-T9 is sufficiently satisfying conditions to approach to users with friendly meaning, not only as a simple device.
